Although his birthday-twins are Werner Heisenberg and Walt Disney, his English name was borrowed from Jackie Chan, hence the name Jacky Trí Nguyễn :D
Born the second son of a middle-class family in Quy Nhơn city, a suburban city situated in the middle part of VietNam; raised in the middle of Vietnamese economic transposition (’86-’91); this man is anything but mediocrity. He always vies for prodigies :P
At the age of 28-month-old, he was able to spell and write in Vietnamese. At the age of 4, he was enrolled in an elementary school, but quitted after 1 month, due to his demure trait. After much persuasion, he went to school at 5, and quickly obtained a silver medal in Mathematics 5 years later. It was 1992, and that year was also marked by a bronze medal in a national story-telling contest. 4 years later, in 1996, in a provincial keyboard performance contest, while other competitors are showcasing the ornate Czardas and Hugarian Sonata; this man simply performed a Symphony 40 for flute and claimed the gold medal. It wasn’t the Symphony 40 that brought him the medal, it was the read-and-play contest: all contestants were given a piece of musical notes and asked to perform it after 5 minutes. He spent the first minute playing it, the second minute memorizing it and the last 3 minutes wondering why the other contestants are having such a hard time. Some might say his medal was a consequence of luck, well, whatever.
In 1996, at the age of 14, illogically imitating Uncle Ho, he followed his brother to study in School for the Gifted in Ho Chi Minh city, VietNam. 3 years later, in 1999 he managed to get a firm 26.5/30 in the Entrance Exam, while the cut-off point was 18/30.. In 2003, blindly following Uncle Ho, he got a ticket to Nanyang Technological University, Singapore..
